What is Dudi Press Compressor?
It is a free tool that reduces PDF size, especially for newspapers, e-papers and scanned PDFs. Useful for shrinking large PDFs for WhatsApp, email or upload limits.
Is my file safe? Is it uploaded?
Your file is never uploaded anywhere. All the work happens in your own browser. Only the tool's libraries are loaded from the internet the first time.
Do I need to choose any settings?
No. Just select or drop your PDF. The tool automatically tries several settings and gives you the smallest file it can make while keeping the document clearly readable.
Will the text stay selectable and searchable?
When the text-safe method gives a similar size, text and vector content are left untouched and only the images inside are optimized. When converting pages to optimized images gives a clearly smaller file, the tool uses that for maximum compression, and it tells you when that happens.
Why did it say "the original file is the best"?
If the file cannot get smaller without hurting quality, the tool does not give you a bigger or worse file and keeps the original. This happens when the PDF is already well compressed.
How much does the quality drop?
Images and pages may become a little softer to reach the smallest size, but small text stays readable at normal zoom.
Will very large or password-protected PDFs work?
Large files (100 MB+) may take time and can run out of memory on mobile, so a PC is better. Password-protected PDFs are not supported yet; please remove the password first.
What if something doesn't work?
Open it in Chrome or Edge, refresh the page and check your internet connection. If a red error appears on screen, note the message and send it to us.
